The Lyric Cinema Cafe is hosting its first ever 48 Hour Film Festival Competition. This festival is designed to strengthen the film community in Northern Colorado. Every team receives a line of dialogue, a character, and a prop to include in their film on Friday, October 7th at 6:30. The following 2 days teams will complete their film and submit on Sunday, October 9th.
“With portable cameras and affordable data and non-linear digital editing, I think this is a golden age of…filmmaking. These new technologies mean we can make complicated, beautifully crafted and cinematic films…” Lucy Walker.
All team films will be shown at the Lyric on Sunday, October 9th at 7pm. The Lyric has locally sourced some fantastic prizes hand-picked for local filmmakers to continue to create new content together after the festival ends. This showing which is free will be taking place on Sunday, October 16th at 7:00PM at The Lyric. After talking with the organizer, Jesse Nyander, both he and I were expecting potentially 6-7 teams to show up for the launch. We drastically underestimated those figures, there were 15 teams who showed up for the launch, and of those 13 teams, 13 met the deadline, you will be able to see all of the films produced for the festival this coming Sunday!
Hopefully, we will see you there!
