If you think all dance shows are boring, conventional, and the same… well, then this is the show for you. Canyon Concert Ballet’s artists are performing in a new way, tonight March 25 and Saturday 26th in the intimate Magnolia Theatre at The Lincoln Center. The long-standing nonprofit studio presents an evening of short dances ranging from classical ballet to new modern and contemporary works, showcasing choreography by the award winning David Taylor, Judy Bejarano, and Alicia Laumann. This show is perfect for the entire family of current dancers, wannabe dancers, and those who enjoy being inspired.
Going beyond traditional movement and story ballets, each dance will be introduced with a few words about the choreographer’s intent, and what challenges the performers face. This is a wonderful opportunity for audience members to absorb the full intent of the artist and understand the boundaries and movement of the dancers.
With the purchase of a VIP ticket, you are invited you to join the performers after the performances for a champagne reception* for a discussion with the choreographers, dancers, and directors where you can ask questions, comment, and gain even more insight into experiencing dance performances.
The evening’s repertory will excite and engage your passion for all genres of dance and leave you thrilled to have witnessed such graceful and powerful movement so up close and personal. If you like the Lincoln Center Dance Series, you will love this performance! Here is the program:
“Paquita”, choreography after 1847 staging by Petipa, score by Deldevez and Minkus
“Water’s Edge”, modern dance, choreography by Judy Bejarano of IMPACT Dance, music by Anna Phoebe, Dakota Suite & Emanuele Errante
