Just when I think Impact Dance cannot top what they have done, I’m proven wrong. Showing for 3 more evenings, folding and unfolding, the modern dance company’s latest production, is a marvelous display of art and movement. A dance performance such as this should allow the minds of the audience to drift and succumb to imagination. That is exactly what “folding and unfolding” accomplishes.
I love this show. It actually gave me chills several times throughout and even kept my 9 year-old daughter entertained. It’s amazing how Artistic Director, Judy Bejarano can create artistic expression with something as simple as a piece of fruit. There are several new bodies in the company bringing fresh motion to an already suburb cast of dancers. I’m constantly blown-away with the talent we have so easily accessible to us right here in Fort Collins. Impact’s innovative and experimental boundary-pushing creative juices rival those of national touring companies. Plus, they have fabulous taste in music and spoken word.
Visual art, lighting, installation and projection by: Lisa Morgan, Bryan Nydegger, Stanley Scott, Ben Gondrez and Brandon Hopper. These collaborators have developed some seriously good stuff!
