I’m so excited to announce the CD release party for Attack of the Killer Redheads by talented local musician, and my friend, Bevin Luna.
Attack of the Killer Redheads is Bevin’s debut album and not only does it look ridiculously awesome on the outside (check out that cover art by Lynette May), but it’s awesome on the inside. Bevin is originally from Memphis, TN, so she basically bleeds musical talent. Her music has been described as “bluesy power-punk guitar.” You’ll often hear her playing with her brother, Gabe Luna, on this new album. The album also features Ansel Foxley from The Patti Fiasco.
Simply put, this album truly ROCKS. It’s this delicious mixture of Rock n’ Roll, blues, punk, folksy style that makes Bevin such a unique artist in Fort Collins. We’re lucky to have her, truly.
This new CD has seven songs on it,’Our News,’ ‘What It Means,’ ‘River’ (one of my favorites), ‘Damaged,’ ‘Seven Yeah,’ ‘All These Quiet Moments,’ and ‘Tempers & Liquor’ (another favorite). The CD starts out rocking, then smooths out in the middle, and finishes strong with such pure soul. You can feel Bevin in each of her songs, like somehow by listening to her you may know her a little better.
Check out her CD release concert this Saturday, May 9 at the Swing Station. Doors open at 8 p.m., Dee Tyler goes on at 9 p.m. and Bevin will play at 10 p.m. The party is only $5 and will be followed by an awesome dance party featuring DJ Disruptus.
